PREGNANCY TALISMAN
A tool to connect the partner with the embryo and the mother.
Pregnancy and childbirth can be a significant and emotionally challenging experience for expectant mothers and their partners.
Research has demonstrated the importance of involving fathers in the pregnancy process, as their involvement has been linked to
positive outcomes for both the mother and child. Moreover, emotional connection between expectant mothers and their partners during pregnancy can alleviate stress and enhance feelings of support.
It is therefore crucial for partners to actively support and emotionally engage with expectant mothers throughout pregnancy, rather than only after the birth of their child.

APPROACH
The ”Talisman" is a wearable device that is connected to a digital twin of the mother, allowing for personalized support and experiences. It is designed to help pregnant women and their partners navigate the challenges of pregnancy and build a strong foundation for their growing family.
Features:
The Talisman would visualize the growth of the embryo through customized versions that are interchanged after a set number of weeks. This provides a tangible representation of the growing baby and helps the partner to connect emotionally with the unborn child..
Personalized challenges for the partner: The talisman would provide personalized challenges for the partner each week, such as following a specific diet plan with the mother, giving massages, or providing physical help. These challenges are intended to help the partner support the pregnant woman and foster an emotional connection with the unborn child.
Alerts for high blood pressure: One key feature of the talisman is its ability to alert the partner, through sound/light cues that direct to the App, if the pregnant woman's blood pressure becomes too high, promoting timely medical attention if necessary. It can also be customizable that the partner gets more detailed versions of reports, that the mother might not want to be stressed about.
Other helpful resources: The talisman could also provide access to other helpful resources, such as educational materials about pregnancy, recommendations for pregnancy-safe exercises, and suggestions for ways to bond with the unborn child. These ways would be initiated though the Talisman and can take the form of meditation or expressive conversations.
The Talisman could be especially helpful for partners who are not physically present with the pregnant woman, as it would allow them to still provide support and feel connected to the pregnancy. It could also be a good way for partners to learn more about pregnancy and the various changes and challenges that the pregnant woman is experiencing.

USECASE
The Talisman is intended to accompany the family, especially the partner of the mother, for the full duration of the pregnancy.
For that the Talisman is split in 3 Stages, which are represented in individual boxes the Source provides.
This box is there for the first and most important weeks of the pregnancy (shown in the pictures above). Each talisman gets unlocked every other week and provides interactive challenges. The shape of the talisman slowly grows into a baby hand and changes size similar to the size change of the embryo.
This stage is personal depending how the interactions of the first stage went. Here the Talisman doesn't change size or shape anymore. The box provides one single physical interface that only changes its functions per month. The physical look and tasks are changed depending on the choices done during the first stage.
After the birth the Talismen can be used as a reminder of the pregnant-time or as continuous help as connector to the digital twin app.
